21.9.2024 (SITA.sk) – Strýko Novaka Djokoviča Goran bol v piatok menovaný prezidentom Srbského tenisového zväzu. Vo funkcii nahradil Mirka Petroviča, ktorý po deviatich rokoch na čele organizácie odišiel do dôchodku.
„Moje tenisové skúsenosti pochádzajú predovšetkým zo spolupráce s Novakom, ale bol som tiež sedem rokov riaditeľom turnajov Serbia Open a Sofia Open. Mojím cieľom je pokračovať v zlepšovaní toho, čo sme začali, pričom kľúčové sú financie,“ povedal po svojom zvolení.
Djokovič na konferencii v Belehrade povedal, že zväz má viacero problémov, ale postupne ich plánuje vyriešiť. Jednou z jeho ambícií je vybudovať národné tréningové centrum.
„Chcel by som poďakovať predchádzajúcemu prezidentovi Mirkovi Petrovičovi a, samozrejme, prezidentovi Srbska Aleksandarovi Vučičovi, ktorí nám pomohli vyriešiť veľký finančný problém, ktorý bol pred nami. Nemáme svoje priestory, nemáme národné tréningové centrum a chcem, aby sme to vyriešili,“ skonštatoval Goran Djokovič na webe zväzu.
